Recruitment & Retention Resources

In 2022, OFDA's Board of Directors finalized a strategic plan that focused on Recruitment & Retention efforts. The funeral profession is not the only profession and sector experiencing issues with recruiting new, qualified employees or retaining competent employees, but we know that the OFDA community needs to work together to help come up with new strategies to combat workforce labor issues. OFDA's Recruitment and Retention Task Force has worked hard to put together meaningful member resources. Have questions or comments regarding Recruitment & Retention? Retention & Recruitment Disclaimer

As Ohio’s leading funeral service association, it’s OFDA's mission to provide its members and all funeral service professionals with outstanding advocacy, programs, and resources. Among our many outstanding resources is our recruitment and retention survey, which aims to help our funeral service professionals with the nationwide challenge of recruiting and retaining talent. The results of our survey consist of anonymized and disaggregated data from the funeral homes who voluntarily participated in the survey. Under no circumstances was the survey created and to be used as a means for competing companies to reach any understanding, expressed or implied, which would restrict competition, or in any way, to impair the ability of members or funeral service professionals to exercise independent business judgment regarding matters affecting competition.
